How interviews work

What happens from the first conversation to the day your page goes live.

1. Consent and the signed release

Nothing is published without a signed release from the business. The release says what we will record, how the video, photos and written Q&A will be used, and how the review window works. Anyone else who appears on camera is asked for their permission too.

2. The interview

We ask the same set of standard questions in every free interview. Paid features can add custom questions that we choose with you. You are never asked to read a script, and you can skip a question.

3. The written Q&A

Your answers are written out under each question and lightly edited for readability. Each answer links to the moment in the video where you say it.

4. Your review window

Before the page goes live we send you a link to review it. You have 5 to 7 business days to approve it or ask for changes. As stated in the release you sign, if we do not hear back within that window, the page is treated as approved and is published.

5. Changes and removal

If something is wrong or out of date, tell us and we will correct it. If you want your page taken down, tell us and we will remove it.

6. Free and paid features, and links

A standard interview is free and links to your website with a standard link. Paid features are labeled, and the link to your website is marked as sponsored. Either way, you approve the page first.
